Made a few minor changes...

Why split up the only line that has consistently worked for us in Ruutu-Kelly-Neil? Makes no sense.

The other option I would like to see if Michalek on the top line does not work is this :

Smith - Spezza -Alfredsson
Foligno - Regin - Kovalev
Michalek - Fisher -Shannon
Ruutu - Kelly - Neil

With the second combo I took out Winchester because I think Smith has clear cut more offensive potential. I don't mind the idea of throwing out a young grinder with the two skill guys to make room, crash the net and dig in the corners. Don't bother trying to be the sniper/finisher, just play your game, make room for the others and production will come.

I find that has been one of the problems with trying to find linemates for Spezza. It seems they have always been trying to fit "Winchester/Shannon/Foligno" pegs into "Heatley" or back in the day "Alfredsson" holes. The line needs to find it's own identity not try to be cash. That's why it worked for a while with Regin last year. He was not trying to be anyone else, he was playmaking and taking open shots when they came.

Michalek - Fisher - Shannon would be a line with tremendous speed.
