When I think of the best GM's in the league, I think of Lou Lamerello, Bryan Murray, and yes, Brian Burke (*gasp*).
But like I said, it's just my opinion. I think you're looking at this from a very biased standpoint, thor. Couldn't get more for Weight? C'mon.
When Slats was GM of the Oilers and they barely made the playoffs, he was called a genious. Lowe barely makes the playoffs, he gets criticized. As for Weight, he said he'd only go to St. Louis or Detroit and Lowe's hands were tied. He was one year away from UFA so you really can't expect a big return.
