So I sit myself in front of my PC, open to check the scores of last night, and see that NJ scored 5 goals. "Impossible!" is the first thing I think. The next thought is "Well, it's against Chicago." Then I open the Boxscore and see that two of them are empty netters in the last minute. That explained a lot.

As for Matsumoto, good for him, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. There was simply no spot for him on the Flyers. We've already got 5 NHL caliber centers, to the point where we have problems spreading them over lines and have them succeed. He would have walked in his next free agent period anyway, and this could also easily be the same as what Laliberte did last year. Come up, score a bunch of goals, then produce nothing for the next week and get sent back down, though I'm not sure the Canes can send him back to Charlotte without waivers so he might stick.
