My rating system gives credit to the top 7 scorers in the league along with some other criteria. If a guy consistently hangs around in the top 7 that would likely make him greater than a player like St. Louis. Sundin does not consistently hang around the top 7. He is usually in the top 15 or 20. In my opinion, that is good not great. If a guy cannot be in the top 7 or win major awards, he is not great. Period.

St Louis winning the Hart, 1st team all star, scoring championship and Stanley Cup in one season is greater than Sundin's one fourth place finish, one 7th place finish and two second team all stars. Sundin has put together a bunch of good seasons along with two great seasons. St. Louis' one great season was much greater than Sundin's two great seasons.
