Thanks Edge, well put.

I'm a huge hockey fan and have been eagerly anticipating the season start for some time. Now with the tragedy, I find myself rethinking priorities. I missed both preseason games to spend more time with my family and daughter. I am less excited about the opener Thursday.

I still love hockey and will support the Thrashers this year. I am horrified about how fragile we are as people and how quickly the brightest futures can be snuffed out.

One young man is gone in an instant. His teammate, one of the brightest young NHL stars, (and the future foundation of an organization and city), may never be the same again.

Let's not take our gifts in life lightly--for we may not have them long!
