This from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

"The average sentence for vehicular homicide in Georgia is about 7.4 years, said Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter.

Porter noted the chances of conviction would be enhanced if Heatley was shown to be legally drunk at the time of the accident."

Man. Having made my share of mistakes, I feel terrible for Heatley. Lucky for me and probably most of you, the stupid things we did when we were young did not turn out this way. And I'm not only talking about the legal ramifications, of course. The kid will never be the same.
