The guy has the awards; Hart, Art Ross, Cup and three all start team selections, plus he is racking up some nice point totals late in his career to complement that. If he continues his play this year, he could possibly be a first team all star on the wing, I donít think any four time all stars have not made it to the HHOF.
Rick Martin has 4 selections (2 first team, 2 second team) and he'll never get in. Leclair has 5 (2 1st team, 3 2nd team) and I wouldn't induct him. Kariya is a borderline guy with 5 (3 first team, 2 second team) and Carl Brewer (although on defense) has 4 selections. Throw in a controversial choice like Neely with 4 2nd team all-stars and yeah it is certainly not a lock to get into the HHOF that way.

But St. Louis will get in.

I think he should but a lot of guys here think that he should not.

Also Tom Anderson won the Hart in 42 and isn't in the Hall and rightly so IMO.

Buddy O'Connor won in 48 and actually is in the Hall but not sure that he really should be.

Dido Chuck Rayner who won in 50 and is in the Hall with a 138-208-77 record in 428 games played.

Maybe the Hart isn't all that it is cracked up to be?

St. Louis is pretty deserving of his Hart IMO.
Rayner had three 2nd team all-stars on some bad, bad teams. Plus he took a team to the final in Game 7 overtime who had no business being there. He's at the bottom tier of goalies, but he's fine in there.

But in the end there is only two guys (Anderson and Rollins) so the odds are stacked in any Hart Trophy winners favour. We're looking at a greater than 95% chance for a Hart trophy winner to get in the HHOF.

Lindros even if people begrudge him will likely get in. Sedin looks to be on the right path too. The only Hart winner not eligible who probably won't get in is Theodore so we might as well pencil him with Rollins and Anderson
