on the "draft one goalie late in every draft" theory. Having goaltending depth is invaluable and the odds are that one of these late round picks becomes a very good NHLer and can be used as an asset. Henrik was a late round pick of course, and often time a goon or a fringe player can just be signed as an undrafted free agent that late in the draft.
I think it's very questionable to agree with Jess Rubenstein about anything hockey related. As for everything prior to that pick was a disaster in 2004 - Montoya, Korpikoski (which ended up costing the Rangers a 1st
a 2nd), Olver, Byers and Graham...not exactly the stuff I'd hang my hat on as a scouting staff.
