I don't lift the stick near their hands, but the ref's are in their defense, brutally terrible. They consider it hooking for some apparent reason. So if you lift their stick, you better be getting the puck on the first or second attempt, because anything more than that and I always seem to get the whistle. It's complete BS. I now play at TSC (which is where the LA Kings practice) and their officiating seems to be a little better.
