I guess one way of putting things in perspective is to imagine Markov was an impending UFA playing for another team. It's curious because I can imagine a lot more people would propose to sign him as oppose to the opinions I'm reading right now. I could have sworn people were drooling over the prospect of signing Gaborik and/or Havlat a couple years back, despite the injury prone concerns that followed both players.
