I actually think Spaling has MUCH softer hands than Smithson. I am not sure Smithson could stick-handle around my mom. Spaling on the other hand, I think, shows SOME signs of being able to handle the puck in tight areas. While he may not see the game as well as most playmakers, I do think he can contribute 5-10+ more points than Smitty can in a given year.

(but I also don't think he will be as physical as Smitty is)
