I don't think playing 10min or 20min changes much. When you're cleared to play, then you can play any amount of minutes. Yea, if you're not in great physical condition, then you might be more subject to injuries, like pulling your groin, or small stuff like that. But a complete tear in your knee shouldn't be a threat.
Markov actually played 23min in his first game and he actually looked better as the season progressed. I don't think he was rushed. I think either his knee is fragile or the doctors didn't do a great job in the surgery to begin with.
