Hockey players get motivated by their home crowd booing, and there's ample videos, and quotes to support that. Booing players on your own team can help them respond or reflect on why their getting booed. This has been implemented into hockey and all sports since...well, the beginning, so you better be prepared to argue a lot of people.

I don't go to school or get paid to entertain you (professionally entertain) and my role in society is not to entertain, but I'm happy to bring a smile to your face.

Listen, I don't want to get into it, but people have been booing their own for a LONG time for a reason!
