I think everybody has a slightly different idea of what greatness is, so there is no constant.

I also think that most people automatically discount the greats of eras past simply becuase they have never seen them play. Players like Howie Morenz, Cy Denneny and Eddie Shore deserve to be recognized as top 20 players because they dominated the 20s and 30s so greatly.

Forsberg is an excellent player but, based on my criteria of greatness he fits in #24 on the playmakers list and, when I am finished, he will be about the 50th greatest player of all time.
