Has anyone considered the fact that Pronger has been holding Carle back thus far?
Honestly, Pronger has looked (other than his slap shot) like a shell of himself. Players are stick handling through him, he is making bad decisions with the puck, it really is like night and day from last season.
Sure, Carle has made his fair share of mistakes, but Coburn has looked like garbage and O'Donnell has looked like a pylon at different points in the season. Everything Carle does wrong, though, is amplified by you guys for whatever reason.
The fact is, he is the 5th highest paid dman on the team and is tied for the team lead in points. Get off his back a little and compare him objectionably with the rest of the d corps and you will finally see that you all sound ridiculous.
Carle has been our worst defensive defenseman all year long. He's made up for it by the team being really productive offensively with him on the ice.
