Even then, the biggest problem for Canadian markets was that without a cap there was little chance for them to remain competitive financially. With a cap in place, it is far easier for Canadian teams to deal with any potential disparity between the US dollar given that Canadian markets are likely to be much stronger in ticket sales, etc. than some of these new US markets.
