As bad as Rivet has been, he is going to be an asset in demand at the deadline. A right handed veteran defensemen with a ton of playoff experience is exactly what younger, playoff bound teams are going to look to add.

Will he bring much in return ? No... but a mid round pick is certainly likely. IMO

If the Sabres are out of it... which is the likely scenario... I could see a lot of our veteran UFA assets being of interest to other teams.

Connolly(2ND/3RD), Niedermayer (5TH/6TH), and Rivet(3RD/4TH) should ALL be traded at the deadline.

Grier has a no trade clause.. which hopefully he waives.

Montador is the one debatable guy, as the Sabres should be looking to extend him. But if he isn't... then trade him too.
