Mid-season update

Lindenwood Men
Rick Zombo, ex Blues Defenseman from 1991-95 and first-year head coach, has LU continuing it's dominance of non-NCAA hockey. The Lions go into Christmas Break riding a 16-game winning streak. LU's only loss coming at the hands of (#16) Davenport University back on 9/25/10 2-3. Lindenwood is ranked 1st in ACHA DI with a record of 17-1-0 and also leads the CSCHL with a perfect 6-0 conference record. Through 18 games the Lions are outscoring opponents 103-37. LU has not dropped out of the 1st place ranking all season. Davenport has been on their heals all season ranked at #2 through most of the season, except for the pre-season poll ranked Low at #16.

Cory Spradling (Sr.) leads the Lions in goals, and has racked up 25 goals,11 assists, and 36 points and total points through 18 games. Grant Gorczyca (So.) leads the Lions in assists with 13 goals, 32 assists, and 45 points in 18 games. Gorczyca also leads the team in +/- with a +31. In addition all active players are in the 0 and above for +/-.

Next Games are at home in Wentzville vs. rival University of Illinois on 1/7/2011 at 7:30pm and on 1/8/11 at 4pm. The Fighting Illini are ranked #13 and have a record of 11-6-1.

Lindenwood Women
LU Women's hockey is also off to a fast start with a record of 17-1-1. The Lady Lions have not lost in regulation, with their single loss came in OT to (#2) Michigan State 2-3. LU's only tie came on the road 1-1 vs. (#3) Grand Valley State. The Lady Lions are currently riding a 10-game winning streak going into Christmas Break. Through 19 games Lindenwood is outscoring opponents 105-18, and has recorded 10+ goals in the past three straight games.

Brett Lobreau (So.) leads the Lady Lions in goals and total points, compiling 13 goals, 10 assists and 23 points in 19 games. Senior captain Lisa Moreau and Shea Crawford (Sr.) are tied for assists on the team with 12 each. In addition the team has balanced scoring with 15 players having 10+ points.

Next Games are a pair on the road in Minneapolis, MN on 1/8/11 and 1/9/11 against Augsburg College (NCAA DIII). AC is 0-8-1 and unranked in the NCAA DIII. Next home series is on 1/14/11-1/15/11 against the University of Rhode Island. URI is ranked #3 and has a record of 9-3-2.
