To build on your point -- Stamkos had 6 points in 7 games in his first WJC as a reference point.

I'm digging Couturier's game -- he's been effective in a checking role and there's nothing wrong with him not being "the" guy at the moment. That role may well be his next year... but for right now, he's a contributor, not the star and it isn't a cause for concern.

****, Rask, Nugent-Hopkins and Strome didn't make the cut at all... not a knock on them at all. Couturier makes it and is playing his role and is getting cut up.
Yeah, last night I was just watching his every shift in awe.
He says his biggest weakness is skating?
I loved it last night.
He is a monster on the boards; it seems like no one even dares to touch him.
His hockey sense is just brilliant.

And yeah, Rask wasn't even invited to Sweden's selection camp.
They actually invited a guy I like a lot, Mika Zibanejad, instead of Rask.
I'm sure people would complain about Nugent-Hopkins too if he had made the team because he'd be the 13th forward, so his statistics wouldn't be "good enough" either.
And Strome?
He wasn't invited to the summer orientation camp (for obvious reasons) or the selection camp even though he's on a tear in the OHL thus far, but he's good enough for the top 10 and we all want him?
