Looking at tape of a successful player is a common practice. You are making far too much out of this. Some have drawn parallel's, I'm not sure about that nor do I care. But watching how another smaller player deals with larger players could net some results.
If there is anything Russell can get out of studying Rafaski, it will be far less meaningful in 500 games. If Russell is even in the NHL.
I would say that it's 99%+ possible that Russell would get more out of studying Rafalski's then everyone on the boards got out of this exchange. If nothing else he should get a better idea on how to defend him, not that it's as important for Russell...
Nothing to see here, time to move on.
Either way, it would probably be far more meaningful to bring in a successful veteran offensive dman for mentoring purposes anyway. For the team and the young dmen in the system.
