Come on. You cannot seriously comapre Jed Ortmeyer to Mike Keane. Let's face the facts, we all loved Jed's hustle, but on most teams, he might not even make the 4th line. We all fell in love with his play becuase for the first time in years, we actually saw someone wearing a Rangers sweater hustle. But the fact remains that were he on almost any other team, Ortmeyer may not have ever recieved a chance to play.
Ortmeyer is a decent 4th liner for the Rangers. But unless he improves his game to show just a tad of a scoring touch, his stay in the NHL will not be long. Really, Jed has shown 3 things:

1. He can play in a defensive system (really, what other choice does he have? Playing in such a system is the only way that he can play in the league)
2. He can block shots
3. He hustles

Aside from that, there is nothing to signify that he is to be an important cog of any team.
