They all were playing well. JVR had chances that require him to just have a tiny bit better timing and he would have cashed in. A lot of parts of his game are improving all at once, the points are about to come in by the boatload (maybe).

Carter frustrated me with a couple passes when he had open looks at Varlamov and could have shot, but he was definitely in the game. Oh yeah, and he scored.

I thought the game was going to get out of control the way scraps were forming at the end of the second period. Erskine was getting away with a ton of **** after the whistle, lots of crosschecks up high. The refs would have been in the right to call him for that and give the Flyers a retaliatory roughing. Wouldn't hurt manpower, but would stop the crap. Still, the most important thing was that they were consistent in letting stuff go.
