Its just kind of happens; with me it was too much road running on hard surfaces; in Dubinsky's case it may simply mean that he has poor bone strength, in which case it could be a recurrent problem. But I doubt it. I think this is probably a one time thing, not a very common hockey injury.

A stress fracture is like a tiny crack in the windshield. It will spread if stressed, while not being much of a problem to begin with. Only cure is time.
