You are correct, it is a bit of an IQ test.
Lupul - Career 25G 25A player, as good or better than your current forwards, 2002 1st round pick
Gardiner - 2008 1st , top pairing D for Wisconsin, highly regarded.
Etem - 2010 1st. Played for USA at World Juniors. Google him.
2012 1st - it IS still a first, right? And probably mid-round?
So let's see....top compensation for Weber ads a RFA would be 4 1sts..... huh. How about that. Of course, the draft picks from a contender after Weber was signed to an offer sheet would likely be FAR better as there are quite a few gems to be garnered in the first round between 25-30.
You may not like the deal (and I don't agree with it either) but as far as your IQ test you failed it.
