Still having crosby and malkin down the middle wouldnt leave pittsburgh's center position "destroyed". Stafford will probobly get a raise to about 3-3.5 million which is still cheaper than staal, and can easily match the offensive output of Staal, while giving crosby a legit scoring threat.
