I watch European soccer all the time on my phone, which doesn't have Sopcast, so saying it's essential is a bit of a stretch. For when I'm at a computer, though, ESPN3 is pretty good quality, and being able to start games on demand up to a week afterwards is sweet (especially for big games that happen during work, like the relatively recent Barca-Real match, I can go home and start them up on my Xbox and watch them on my big screen and nice sound system whenever I want).
