I agree but the problem is also that there really aren't enough die hards. You go to places like NY and the northern part of the country and you have fans. But beyond that its really hard. The problem with hockey is that its stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Hockey suffers the biggest problem of any major sport in that its hard to play. You need ice and you need some money. So outside of a few areas, you just can't build a base from the ground up which includes kids who play and support the sport and go on to become fans.
The general problem is that the product only catches on it spurts in this country and has for 100 years.
