He is bulked up, not fat. He was a scrawny kid in his rookie years, now after conditioning he has a lot more muscle, and the system and style of play have changed. He has to be slow and strong on the outer boards, it isn't run and gun hockey anymore, he is expected to carry the puck and he has to maintain possession.
