I disagree that another forward will make a material difference. If we play poorly against vancouver, colorado (twice) and st. louis over the next little stretch of games a better forward to replace say Chimera or Pisani will not make a material difference.


A good puck moving D-man helps in three ways:

1) He would most likely be an upgrade on Cross/Ferguson therefore better defense.

2) Improved powerplay b/c better puck movement in offensive zone.

3) A puck moving d-man makes every player on the ice with him better. Rather than a forward having to carry the puck basically end to end to create offense, a good outlet pass allows forwards to come down the ice with speed. This gives them an advantage over the opposing D.

It will create way more offense, and as you know, the team with the most goals wins.
