There are PLENTY of other options that people have brought up that i would be willing to go for.. Im sure there is more but i cant think right now im at work.

We need someone who can actually play the game and vandemeer is NOT what we want or need. If we had to give up quality assets then id much rather go for phillips, mccabe or someone that can fill in nicely and can play more than 10min a night and be a positive for us.
Either way, Gilroy needs to go, Del Zotto needs more time to settle in down in the A, and Eminger needs a solid partner so they can take another 5-10min of ice time and give our top 4 some much needed rest.

Allen and Hejda (and possibly Wideman) will cost a lot to get (for a rental). And Montador isn't any better than Vandermeer. If you think he's total ****, then you are wrong. He's good at everything, great at nothing, and is a solid NHL defenseman.
