So I don't think the sky is falling even if the D is a joke right now. On the bright side, the D should be healthy and well rested by the end of the regular season.
If the Canucks play .500 hockey, they'd still have a decent shot at the Conference and would almost surely finish top 2. A .500 record would give them 106 points. As a comparison, Detroit's on pace for 108, Dallas is on pace for 100 (and falling), Nashville's on pace for 98, and so forth.
So if they can just play reasonably well in everyone's absences and even if they come out a few games over .500, they'll be in great shape.
