I think it was more about who they'd rather keep in the long run, him or Weber. They're both in (or close to?) that situation where if they get sent down or called up they have to go through waivers, so they didn't want to end up losing one of them for nothing. I prefer Weber, so i'm happy about their decision. He's (o'byrne) had success in Colorado, but I think Weber is playing very well too. It would have been nice to have both Weber and O'byrne on the same team here, but unfortunately, at the time of his O'byrne's trade, we had too many better D then him. He just didn't instill enough confidence in the Habs brass to trade away a veteran to ensure a spot for him--because that was the only way to give both Weber and O'byrne regular ice time.
