Have to argue that he's the best overall Dman. Nash gets little shutdown or PK time. Carle's stats are probably as good given the injury time missed and he plays both PP and PK. This to me makes Carle the more valuable. Must be the Habs want a left hand shot and this gives them a chance to have a look at how he's progressed. If he's going to fill in as the seventh guy then it's a good move and will give him experience but don't be fooled, he is not NHL ready at this point compared to Subban at this time last year who was. If this is a longer term move and he will see minimum playing time then it doesn't make sense. There are guys with NHL experience that are better off in the press box.
