For those thinking that this is almost too good to be true... realize that MacArthur has ONE good season under his belt. Prior to this, he is/was a dime-a-dozen 3rd liner in the league with a career high of 35 pts and over 200 games played prior to the start of this year. 3 years at $3m is a long commitment for this type of player, and represents significant job security for him while he'll only be 29 when the contract expires.

I think in order to get the 3 years from Toronto, they'll have to do it at a price closer to $2.5m, otherwise it might make most sense to only do a 2-year deal. He's gotta come at a price where if it turns out that this is just one great year, Toronto can get themselves out of the contract without too much difficulty.
