edit-I am well aware he is 5ft11 and the fact that he is not the greatest scorer is not my concern he is and will be a great checker(I'm talking defensively), I'd say he is a more talented than Mike Grier who all Edmonton fans love.
Ahonen is expendible because he will never get a shot to unseat Brodeur as a starting goaltender. IMO Rupp will play the same role as Ramuesson this season. Berglund could play the top line but only because the Devils are thin on RW and if Rita could play RW then the deal is perfect for the Devils. (i know he's a LW but if he can, I don't know)
However I don't think Rupp would balance it out for the reason you said but I've heard that the Oilers are interested in aquiring a big center so thats where Rupp comes into play.
