actually your Weiss example is just supporting the Chistov argument here.
When Keenan was the coach in Florida, he didn't want Weiss on the team - he didn't feel he was ready and should have been sent back to the minors. This was apparently a point of argument between him and Dudley.
Keenan has since replaced Dudley, and Martin replaces Keenan behind the bench - but this has happened since the lockout started, so there is no proof yet that he has changed his opinion of Weiss... if Keenan was in control prior to the lockout, Weiss may well have been moved... and even now there are those that think his days in Florida are numbered.
Another (huge) difference here is not just size, but also overall development. Weiss had a pretty good year and is showing signs of progressing overall as a player, especially as a 2-way center. Chistov hasn't shown much of this recently. He's pretty much regressed in his development since his rookie year.
