I still think it was ridiculous not putting in a claim for Zherdev, but at least with Kovalev being acquired right after, there was - sort of - a cap-explanation for it.

Would have been the easiest thing in the world making space for Zherdev too though. Losses making that space available? Redundant (however lovable) bottom 6 grunts who wont be on the team next year anyway.
