The whole "LA needs to win now" and the Kings window to win is a fallacy. This is one of the youngest teams in the league, which also has a deep prospect pool AND has managed the cap well. If by win now, you mean Stanley Cup, well it doesn't matter who they trade for that's available, it's not likely they will win this year. If by win now, you mean getting into the playoffs, they're in the race as we speak with the current roster and made the playoffs last year.

You certainly don't trade your top prospect and one of the top prospects in the entire NHL for an oft-injured RW who isn't a goal scorer. Hemsky has topped 20 goals twice in his career, and once it was 20 on the dot. No thanks, not for one of the most coveted prospects in the league. Now, if we're talking Richards + extension, then that's something that I'd probably do. Richards - extension = no way. In the end, I think Booth will end up coming instead for a prospect not named Schenn and/or picks.
