I would pretty much keep the team we have in an attempt to keep building the chemistry... I kept in mind before unloading unwanted parties (AK, Gomez, Spacek, etc.) a few aspects.
AK. Though people like to throw him under the bus, he has as many points as the captain and leads the team in hits, plus I just love the guy. Every team should have an enigma!
Gomez. He is still as good as about any second center in the league with the exception of a few powerhouses (Malkin, Kesler, Krejci, etc.) and should be able to put up a 50-60 point season next year. If anything, this year is the fluke.
Spacek. If anything, he is the guy I would like to unload. I don't believe though, that we could fetch the likes of Ehrhoff or Pitkanen. Teamed up with a defensively responsible guy like gorges, he won't be a liability.
Another guy I would be willing to part with is Pouliot. I like the guy but I feel we could get an upgrade at the position, for example, Frolov. I know his stock is low right now but I'm pretty sure we could get him for cheap and he could be a very nice compliment to 13 & 14.
Markov should sign for 2 years, Gorges for 3 and Gill for 1 more season. Complimented by 76, 6 & 68, between those 6 guys, we have a good balance of O and D.
I would not be spending to the cap... Though I would be willing to overpay for Konopka. I would try to extend Carey Price at the end of the present season based on his playoff performance. I have a feeling the more we wait, the more it is going to cost us.

Overall, I would be happy with that team as the young guys are starting to compliment our veterans very nicely... For that reason, I don't the point in overpaying for UFA's. We did our shopping when we brought in 6, 11, 13, 21 & 75. Let a few of those contracts fall off the books before retooling...
