i would agree with this. this is the difference between the caps as they are and a cup ring already.
its pretty clear to me that green's skills matured much faster than his mental toughness. he did not respond well to being the game planned priority target of the opposition in the playoffs. pretty clear to me that the plan to slow the capitals down was to attempt to bury green. this also would tend to support the idea of removing green would be a mistake, but thats for another time...oh. thats this thread isnt it?
anyway.....green admits that yzerman got in his head and f'd him up in the worst way last playoffs. the combination of admitting that and telling bruce first off this season that he was going to fix that problem first means he is dedicated and focused in a professional way. he seems clearly unconcerned about his offensive stats.
if green has a big playoffs, the caps go far. if he brings squat, the caps go down in flames.
