With Doughty and Johnson locked into place, assuming we have 1-2 vet's (such as Scuderi, Mitchell, Greene, etc...) on an ongoing basis in the lineup, where do all these defensive prospects actually fit in? We can't get them all, and we can't underplay them forever (such as slotting them and a 5/6 when they are a 3/4)...what do we do? And when? It seems hard to get any fair value when we can't showcase them for a long period of time.

It's a good problem to have. Other teams know more about our prospects than you'd think and they can always scout them directly if they want to know more/have some interest.
Eventually though, I see Scuderi/Mitchell/Greene being moved out, but if and only if there's a guy coming up who can fill their current role as well or better. I've always been of the mindset that puck-movers and two-way defensemen can be young, but shutdown guys should be veterans. It looks like DL has been thinking the same way, but I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with his embarrassment of riches on the back end.
