Hindsight is 50/50, but we have really come a long way in our drafting of defense. Major props to DL in this area. We were horrible at it for the longest time, and had little success since picking up an overage Lubo in 2000. Now we are truly stacked with young D talent.
I remember some of the hype with Crain, Petiot, Grebeshkov, and Shefer. None of those guys came close to living up to their billing. Many of our prospects now haven't had extensive NHL success yet, but there is no denying guys like Voinov, Martinez, and Delauriers are (were for Martinez) doing better in their prospective leagues than any group of Kings D prospects in the past. Of course Doughty is a special case.
Some of is development too, but we've done a great job lately of locating the raw material.
