Maybe he'd taken it from NA though and just took the first chance he could to use that little gem 2 goals or 3 goals be damned.
Interesting. There are probably variables to the adage depending on the League or even the decade. For purposes of curiosity, I came a few 2-0 references including this one from Daniel Alfredsson in 2007 after a Rangers' game.:
“They say a two-goal lead is the worst lead in hockey because you think, Well we’ve got a good lead. The way New York forechecked early, maybe they didn’t forecheck as hard, played a little bit safer in the second. It’s what we’ve been doing when we’ve been having the lead as well.”
