Also, if Madson doesn't prove he can close this year and asks for more than he is getting now in negotiations I think he is gone, Lidge is definitely gone, Ibanez is definitely gone, Oswalt may be gone if he doesn't have a tremendous season (in an attempt to infuse some much needed youth into our team), Rollins should take a paycut after a third straight mediocre offensive season, etc. so we will have some money to play with.

How does Utley's contract work after he is forced to retire after the season? Does insurance pay some of it like in hockey?
I'm sure the Phils have him insured.
