At the beginning of the season my target was Brandon Saad.

With feeling the Rangers may finish in the top half of the league and have no shot at Saad, my target became Matthew Nieto for most of the season.

Now, with the Rangers likely finishing in the bottom half of the league, my attention is now shifted back to Saad.

Saad has a complete package. Like Kreider. Size, speed, skill, desire, underrated smarts. He could probably step right into the NHL with his physical tools.

For whatever reason, probably late risers, Saad has dropped in rankings/projections/mocks to a position the Rangers could be in to take him. Be it by trading up a couple slots or maybe he drops into our laps.

Hopefully we get Saad.

We need that combination of size, speed, and skill.

Eventually adding Kreider, Saad, Grachev, and Werek to the lineup would make us hard to play against with that kind of size up front. Especially with Anisimov eventually filling out his frame, and Boyle and Dubinsky already being big bodies.

Size isn't everything, but they're all equally as skilled as they are big.

Add McIlrath on the backend.

No more being pushed around.
