IIRC, Richardson only filed the arbitration last summer because Lombardi was ignoring Richardson's contract. Why? Because Lombardi was busy during free agency with the Kovalchuk situation.
Now, I have no idea who Lombardi intends to be "busy with" during the upcoming 2011 free agent period, but he'd be wise to clear his desk of stuff while he still has the opportunity to do so.

I don't recall any statement that proves DL actually forgot about Richardson, but even if that was the case, how did that situation with Richardson work out? I don't hear anyone complaining now. How can you fault him when it worked out for the team anyways? Maybe he wanted Richardson to file?
