Unfortunately, it won't matter if you have enforcers or not.

Forsberg physically engages the other team, and as a result, referees have always let the other team maul him figuring that he doesn't deserve special treatment.

He is ultra competitive and he will take abuse by the very nature of his style of play.

Unfortunately the other teams know this, and they will try to take him off his game by running him.

An enforcer won't matter, the Avs had Chris Simon and Peter Worrell and it didn't stop him from getting seriously injured at times. The Avs also had the deterrent of a fiercely talented power play to dissuade teams, but it didn't matter.

Just ask Hitchcock, he wrote the book on running Forsberg while he was in Dallas. And guess what, Dallas was supremely successful against the Avs.
