According to who, exactly?
Hagelin is a MUCH smarter and more well-rounded player away from the puck than either of those guys. That isn't meant as a put down to them, but rather a compliment to the excellent fundamentals that Hagelin possesses.
Bourque and Horak are not going to make an impact in the NHL as defensive-minded forwards, IMO. Either they're going to provide offense or they're not going to be playing in the NHL.
Hagelin can easily spend a career being a tenacious penalty killer and a tremendous shut down defensive forward. He's got the Swedish insistence on strong fundamentals fused with a gritty NCAA period of development. It's a very nice combo. Like a Dahlen or an Erixon or an Axelsson with better wheels and a bit more physicality.
