Upshall has shifted from a wing to center, playing with Jim McKenzie and Jordin Tootoo, the Nashville Tennessean reports
There's slight difference between being a 4th line center and a 2nd line center. His reservations are correct. Upshall, in 15 career NHL games and 200 NHL shifts has taken a grand total of 10 faceoffs (winning 3). The fact that he has seen so little time at center despite our teams need makes me think that he was moved as a 'last resort'. Still, I think he has the tools we like in a center. Great speed, a defensive conscience, solid all-around offensive skills, dogged determination, and abrasive style. But some players, while they theoritically should make solid centers, just can't make the transition. If we are going to move him to center long-term, I think it might be best to let him play in Milwaukee next year and get accustomed to that position.
