Hopefully they get Schenn to LA ASAP. He has a game to play...

The regular-season playing schedule will be reduced to 76 games. The AHL playing calendar will be extended by one week. All sequences in which teams play four games in five nights will be eliminated and the first round of the Calder Cup Playoffs will be reduced to a best-of-five series.
Glad they did this... too much player wear and tear and the quality of the on-ice product when tired guys are playing their 3rd game in 3 nights or 4th in 5 is just awful.
It certainly is interesting and does fix a lot of problems, but I highly doubt the NHL follows suit given that less games would equate to less revenue, especially down the final stretch of the season. It would be nice to get rid of all the double headers though.
Either way, GO MONARCHS!
